PROGRAM
OVERVIEW
Our Server
Management Program was developed to provide consistent maintenance and
review of the workhorses of networked computing environments. Any failures
in these types of business equipment can cripple business functions and
the employee that relies on their performance.
This program
is organized to establish regular intervals of review to determine the
overall system health of each device, including system resources, application
updates, security updates, and virus protection updates. The goal of the
program is to minimize errors, prevent system failures, and sustain the
integrity of the entire network.
Server
Platforms
The engineering team at Cornice Networks is highly skilled
and experienced in working with a variety of computer platforms. Each
server will be catalogued and an asset inventory created. This inventory
data is updated upon conclusion of each periodic review.
Application
& Patch Management
From operating systems to web applications, release and security updates
are published frequently. These updates or "patches" are intended to correct
security and other issues. An integral part of our management program
is to maintain the applications and integrity of each server by reviewing
and installing these updates.
Error
Resolution
The number of applications (services) running on any one machine can involve
a number of layers. Some of these layers can negatively impact the function
of the server in ways that the average user would not notice. It is common
for conflicts and events to occur without human interaction. Our reviews
find those errors and resolve them, keeping your server performing at
its optimal level.
System
Health
Cornice Networks evaluates each server to monitor its usage and system
resource availability; hard disk capacity, memory requirements, and user
demands. We include status updates and recommendations to upgrade these
components when appropriate.
Activity
Reports
To assist you in making appropriate business decisions, Cornice Networks
provides you with plain English management reports at the end of each
maintenance cycle that clearly defines:
- what
was found,
- the impact of those findings,
- what action was taken, and
- our recommendations for further actions, if necessary
